Dear Connie and Family,
I so enjoyed Walt. While I don't have many years of memories to share, one of the things I remember Harry telling me was that Walt was the best story teller ever. Well, I was captivated by him immediately. His stories made me laugh so much. Along with being a great story teller, he was also an amazing listener. That is so rare and such a gift.
Walt shared his love of cars and music with me. We talked a lot about both and he was kind enough to make me several CDs to listen to all the way up to Oregon when I went on a trip. You would have thought I picked out the music myself, that's how perfect it all was. I sang most the way up! My 10 hour drive went by really quick and now those CDs are a treasure for me as I will think of him often while I listen.
So when I picture Walt in Heaven it goes something like this: The best music is blaring (and I mean blaring), there are no stop signs or red lights, no police handing out tickets, and God has given him the best and fastest Corvette up there.
I will miss him terribly, but I know that the memories we all have will bring comfort until we see him again. Maybe he'll let us drive the Corvette!
Much love,
Donna White
