Victoria C. Diaz March 23, 1919 – July 2, 2015Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Dearly beloved wife of 65 years to the late, Joseph J. Diaz (2008). Victoria is survived by her daughter, Linda and her husband, Chris Kemp; son John, who was her caretaker for the last 7 years, and his wife Marlene; daughter in law, Arlene; grandson, Anthony and his wife, Lina; granddaughter’s; Vita McConnell, Dearna and her husband, Mark Singer, Athena Diaz, Ariana and her husband, Miguel Ceja and Ariel Diaz; great-grandchildren; Lily Pohl, Bethanny and Bishop Singer and Emelia Ceja, and sister; Consuelo Sambrano of Dilley, Texas. She will be remembered by her endearing and caring neighbors. Victoria was born in Gonzalez County, Texas, a third-generation Texan. She met and fell in love with her future husband in San Antonio, then spawning a beautiful union which took place on September 4, 1943 in Bexar County, Texas. After WWII they moved to California. They spent their lives together living in San Leandro and San Lorenzo. She loved to dance to the beat of all Latino Rhythms with a flamboyance that all enjoyed to watch, and many envied. She was an artistic lady, creating her own original clothing designs, tatting handkerchiefs, dollies, crocheting beautiful Afghans and pillows. She showed a natural adeptness and skill in many areas. Victoria will truly be missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2015 beginning at 5:00Pm – 9:00Pm, and a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00Pm. Funeral Service will be on Friday, July 10, 2015 beginning at 10:30Am. All services will be at the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 26320 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544.
