Shirley Jimena July 30, 1934 –April 28, 2016 Resident of HaywardShirley Jimena 81, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2016 surrounded by family. Daughter of George & Nancy Giuffre. Shirley was raised in Oakland and graduated from Castlemont High School in 1952. She married Joseph Jimena in 1957 and later moved to Hayward in 1959. Shirley called Hayward her home for the next 57 years. Shirley was an outgoing and fun loving person with a zest for life. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was also a fantastic cook and would take great pleasure in watching family and friends enjoying a great meal together. Shirley was very active in her retirement community as well. She would routinely organize bus trips and actively participated in a majority of the social activities planned for the residents. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Joseph. A loving mother and grandmother, Shirley is survived by her 3 children, Larry (Delia), Barry (Connie) and Kathleen (Jeff). She is also survived by her 7 Grandchildren (Andrew, Jessica, Jon, Teresa, Alana, Brittany & Cali)Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Friday May 6, 2016 Chapel of the Chimes
