I will miss my good friend Shirley and her strength, ethics, values, sense of humor and our time together at the clubhouse for coffee and parties. I had a special ringtone for when Shirley would call to check in. It is the theme to the Andy Griffith show. It was a tune her birds could whistle and it was so funny when they would pipe in together. She was such a good listener when I needed someone to talk to about life. My mom had been unable to talk due to her illnesses for many years. It was really nice to have a friend close to my mom’s age with wisdom and compassion to talk with. I have an empty spot in my heart now but I have so many happy memories. Although I never had to pleasure of meeting Joe, I am comforted in knowing they are reunited. with love, Cookie
