Robert A. Kiska's Obituary
Robert A. Kiska, 57, passed away at home in Hayward, CA on April 12, 2016. He was born in Lorain, OH, June 16, 1958. He is survived by mother Mildred, siblings: Julie Kijewski, Jerry (Anita) Kiska, Lynette Kiska, and Dan-YT (Sheila) Kiska. Also surviving are his nephews: Robert Kijewski and Justin Smith; nieces: Amy Nusko, Carey Smith, Christina Refugio and Julie Bell. His family also includes 9 great nephews and 4 great nieces.Robert was raised in South Holland, IL and graduated in 1976 from Thornridge High School. At an early age Robert took an interest in carpentry and through the years he excelled as a master craftsman. Robert’s skills as a master craftsman continued, leading him on a new path to AZ, beginning his new endeavors into the elevator trade. He was a member of the IUEC Local 140, Phoenix, AZ from 2004 – 2016. Robert also worked with Local 126, Honolulu, HI and Local 8, San Francisco.Robert was known to many as UB (Uncle Bob) and wore many hats. He loved people, never knew a stranger and always had a story or joke, no matter the occasion or situation. He loved his family and loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews, playing and goofing around with them all. Among the things Robert loved to do, golfing and riding his motorcycle were at the top of his list. Many adjectives come to mind when thinking of UB: hardworking, funny, storyteller, jokester, considerate, and always willing to help anyone in need. Robert loved movies of all kinds and could quote line for line from any movie. Robert….UB….you will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved you.
