Robert Briggs1933-2018Resident of PittsburgIt is with great sadness that we announce that Robert Briggs passed away, surrounded by family, at age 84. Our beloved partner, father, grandfather, uncle and friend will be dearly missed.Bob (Wes) was born to Pauley and Opal Briggs in Success, Arkansas. He moved to No. California with family in 1940 and here he would spend the rest of his life. As a young man, he served in the US Navy and Air Force, and after his military service, he made a living in construction, as a lather, until he retired in 1995.He proudly raised a beautiful family with his wife, Lucille Briggs, in Fremont, CA. After her passing, he enjoyed friendships with members of a local seniors club where he met his life partner, Pat Beck. They enjoyed 22 years of travel, movies, and sharing many meals and activities with friends. They also enjoyed many wonderful times with Bob’s family. He enjoyed bocce ball and cooking, too. Bob’s kindness, generosity, and spirited wit will be remembered always.He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Marie Briggs, son-in-law Charles Galloway, daughter-in-law, Corlee Briggs, and sister, Lisa Tillinger. He is survived by his partner Pat Beck and her son, Jason Beck. He was greatly loved by his children, Debbie Galloway, Diane Perez (Rod), Dennis Briggs (Kaye) and Duane Briggs (Janette). He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Rael Briggs (Jennifer), Jaime Pham (Matt), Caitlyn Galloway (Aaron Weis), Brianne Gaylor (Kyle), Josh Stephens and Tony, Kathryn and Brianna Briggs, and four great-grandchildren: Noah Promes, Hanna and Lila Briggs and Samantha Pham. He is also survived by Kaye’s children, Keith Roque and Leah Hammack.As per his wishes, a private funeral service will be held for immediate family.
