Pura Torres' Obituary
She was a force of nature that touched our lives in profound ways. She
raised three sons with unwavering love and dedication. Her strength
and resilience were truly remarkable . . . as was her stubbornness.
She imparted important values and life lessons to her children, instilling
in them a deep sense of family, honor, and pride in their Puerto Rican
heritage.
Born in Manatí, Puerto Rico on March 3, 1926, Pura had a zest for life
that was infectious. She met and married the love of her life, Rafael
Torres, with whom she built a wonderful life. Her delicious cooking and
her vibrant stories of growing up in Puerto Rico brought joy to every
gathering. Her laughter and smile were contagious; and, her wisdom
was invaluable. In her presence, one couldn't help but be inspired by
her determination and her fierce love for her family. She was the
cornerstone of our family; the glue that held everyone together.
As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the legacy she leaves
behind that includes her three sons, her three daughters-in-law, nine
grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. The love she gave, the
wisdom she shared, and the indomitable spirit she embodied will
forever be with us.
Rest in peace, mom; knowing that your love and legacy continue to
thrive in the hearts of your family.
