Peter Triana Miramontes' Obituary
First Sergeant Peter Miramontes was born in Oakland CA to Roberto C. and Mary Miramontes and lived with his family in DeCoto, which later became Union City. Pete loved baseball and played for the Union City “Mighty Midgets” where his team advanced far into the Little League World Series Tournament and played as a left fielder, 1st baseman and relief pitcher. Pete loved hanging around with his three brothers Bob, Lou and David, riding bikes and playing baseball at the local parks. Pete attended Searles Elementary, DeCoto Elementary and James Logan High School. After graduating in 1969, Pete joined the United States Army 91st Division Military Reserves and served as a first sergeant, a Drill Instructor and attained the rank of E-8. He proudly served his country. Additionally, Pete worked for Safeway for 34 years and was lucky enough to meet one of his childhood heroes, Joe DiMaggio. Pete felt the most important thing in life was God and spending time with family. Pete coached his daughter in Mustang soccer (Danville) and his nephew for Tassajara Valley Little League. He enjoyed helping plan neighborhood block parties and dancing the night away with family and friends. Pete attended New Life Church in Alamo where he served on the Welcome and Java Crews. Family time included weekend BBQ’s, vacations, watching and going to Giants baseball games. Pete is preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Ann Wallace-Miramontes and older brother Robert “Bob” Miramontes. Pete is survived by his parents Roberto C and Mary Miramontes, brothers Louis (Kristi) Miramontes and David (Eleonor) Miramontes, his daughters Allison (Aaron) Boen and Sara (Alex) Barron; two granddaughters Analisa and Ashlynn Boen; his wife Dr. Sheri Coburn and stepsons Scott (Elizabeth) Mackey and Ryan Mackey (Corrie Beall) and Bob’s wife Eileen Miramontes.
