I first met Pete when I started at Pioneer Centres back in 1995. We used to talk cars when I would wash his 300ZX at the time. He told me I should go into sales instead of service and told the GSM and GM at the time to give me a chance in sales. I owe a lot to Pete as I have done well in the career that he opened for me. Having now worked as GM with great brands including Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Bugatti; I might never had the opportunity if not for Pete. I’m sorry I did not keep in better contact with him as I just heard of his passing today from Jack G. Cindy I am very sorry for your loss. Pete was a great guy with an awesome sense of humor and a real car guy.

An African Proverb has stuck with me for years, “A friend is someone you share the path with.” Pete is a friend that early in our relationship I identified that we were kindred spirits. We shared a passion for “the business;” we shared a passion for golf; and shared a passion for living life without regrets. My sincerest condolences to the Laban family. Pete was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. He was passionate about the Porsche brand and he was the first one to help you with any question you had. He had a great sense of humor. I will miss the times we talked on the phone. Whenever I hung up with him, I had a smile on my face. He always made me laugh. I will remember the work trips we were on together and how we always found a day to play golf. I will miss you greatly.

One of Pete’s many great qualities, was his ability to make people feel, as if they’d known him forever. While I met Pete much too late in his life, I feel as though we’d been selling Porsche cars together for decades–and that somehow, I remembered the stories he told, as if I was there!Pete will be remembered as a man of integrity, infinitely patient and kind. Dearest Cindy and Phoebe, My heartfelt sympathies, prayers and love are with you during this difficult time. At times, it is difficult to understand why, an amazing, wonderful and beautiful person as Pete, has been taken so soon. A life changing event that shakes the foundation of our souls, for the loss is too difficult to bear at times, but in that loss, we find that the memory of our loved ones is so defined in our hearts, defined in the journey we must continue on and defined in the teachings that are bestowed upon us; to rise up and follow thru on a path, that only we can walk on, with grace, dignity and love.
