Patrick John Weseman's Obituary
Patrick John Weseman January 24, 1969 – June 16, 2025
Patrick John Weseman, lovingly known as “Cookie Monster” at Tennyson High, passed away on June 16, 2025, in Hayward, CA, at the age of 56. Born in San Francisco, he was a proud Hayward native, Navy veteran, dedicated educator, loving husband, and proud father.
Patrick was proud to call himself a “product of Hayward.” Attending Elementary school through college in Hayward, CA. He attended and ran cross country at Chabot College and earned his B.A. in Mass Communications from CSU Hayward. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1990 to 1994, including during the Gulf War.
His greatest impact came through his work in education. He spent over 20 years at the California School for the Blind before teaching special education at SF Juvenile Hall and later at Hoover Middle School, including in the S.O.A.R. program. Patrick believed deeply in every student, helping even the most challenged kids find their way.
He loved blogging about his everyday adventures on Adventures in Weseland, capturing life through photos, stories, and memorabilia. Patrick was an avid collector of autographs and sports keepsakes, a regular at baseball games and museums, and always had his camera nearby. He enjoyed traveling, always making sure to take in the sites and local culture.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Nadrina Weseman; his children, Allison and Geoffrey Weseman; adoptive brother Michael Fink; and godparents, Ken and Diane. He was preceded in death by adoptive parents Roger and Bernadette Weseman; biological mother Nadine Westmoreland, adoptive sister Kathy Weseman and adoptive brother David Weseman.
A memorial will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, CA, on July 3rd from 12:30–2:00 p.m., with burial at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at a later date.
Patrick lived his life to the fullest—with humor, compassion, and love.
