Obdulia “Dolly” Arboleda-Caces Cruzada September 5, 1925 – November 30, 2016Obdulia “Dolly” Arboleda-Caces Cruzada peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2016 in her loving home in San Leandro, CA, in the company of her daughter with whom she lived.She was born on September 5, 1925 in Manila, Philippines. Dolly attended the Asilo de San Vicente de Paul Convent School in Manila, Philippines. On December 30, 1940, she married USAFFE medical corps officer Santiago Cruzada and together they had 10 children. Dolly immigrated to the United States in 1986. She was a long-time resident on the San Francisco Bay Area and devoted parishioner of St. Anne’s Church in Union City, CA.Dolly is well-known for her mastery of the culinary arts. She had a career as a caterer and cafeteria concessionaire for corporations including Purefoods, BF Goodrich. She also worked in the Food Services Department at the University Union at Cal State University in Hayward. During her retirement, she dedicated her time to the church and was an active member of the parish. She loved gardening, leading prayer groups, and cooking her favorite dishes for her friends and family.Dolly left a legacy and was loved by the family she built with her husband, Santiago Cruzada, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her 9 children, Marietta, Rosalinda, Lynda, Ramoncito, Juanito, Cecilia, Carlos, Dennis, Belen, and their spouses; 30 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.She is also preceded in death by her eldest son, Patrocinio Cruzada; and grandson Enrique Bernard Cruzada.Everyone is invited to attend the Mass at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 8 at St. Anne’s Church in Union City, CA. The Mass will be followed by a rosary, viewing and vigil services at 9:00 p.m. – 12 midnight.
