I’ve seen Grandma Dolly in St. Anne’s church so many times not knowing that she’s a blood relative and my true Grandma. But before I’ve known that, her features struck me as so familiar and endearing like my own mother and my grandmother who took care of me from the Balderas side of the family. Although very short time, I’ve learned to love Mommy Dolly and warmed towards her. She’s truly an Estrellita (her favorite song and one that I had the honor of singing duet with her during her 90th birthday) to everybody’s life as she leaves a mark in our hearts and touches us that only her can. Say “hi” to my mother and my grandmother Mommy Dolly!
