Nobuko Asato Obligacion's Obituary
Nobuko Asato Obligacion, 91, passed away on February 9, 2025, at 7:50 p.m. at Kaiser Hospital in San Leandro, CA.
She was born on July 1, 1933, in Okinawa, Japan, to Bukho and Yuzikho Tamashiro Asato.
Nobuko married Agripino Obligacion, and together they settled in Okinawa, Japan.
In 1971, she joined her eight children in Manila, Philippines. A loving and generous mother, Nobuko was known for her kindness and selflessness, always giving her time to support the community in Manila.
She warmly welcomed many families into her home, offering hospitality and comfort to all who came.
In 2004, she moved to California, where she enjoyed watching her family grow.
Nobuko was blessed with 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy throughout the years. She loved cooking and caring for her family. She cherished every moment spent together.
She is survived by her children: Rumiko, Junichi, Leonito, Jesse, Nely, Joycefin, Judy, and Rommel.
Her grandchildren include Tristan Jesse, Judith Krystel, Michael Leo, Tristan Jerald, Joyce Nicholle, Junichi Jr., Tristine Jezchel, Jacel, Stephanie Joy, Michelle Ann, Katrina Cheryl, Melissa Ann, Tristan Jeremy, Jacqueline Bianca, Kristoffer Dante, Rommel Kevin, Jonelle Cristine, Jerrick, Jozlyn Renee, Jarel Joseph, Justin Romeo, and Kyle Dionisio.
Her great-grandchildren are Brandyn Jr., Jasun Jai, Jameel Elijah, Jaxon Ryan, Julius Shane, Jenna Chriscel, Mya Anne, Jaiden Thomas, Jaylen Reign, Sebastian Grayson, Aiko Joy, Jaeda May, Jazmin Renee, Kaia, A’Jayceon, Keanu Dante, Santino Lou, Jaedan Christopher, Myliyah, Lincoln, Scarlett Rae, Anthony Jr., Angelo Jayce, and Jordyn Rylee Nobuko.
She is also survived by extended family members: Dante, Mercedes, Fe Rachel, Anabelle, Edmund, Jose, Rommy, Medelene, Jing, Sekela, Christopher, Jessica, Randall, Joanne, Troy, Tram, Nancy, Shane, Anthony, Sasian and Giemmy.
Nobuko’s life was filled with love, dedication, and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
