I was young, but as a close family friend, Mack was like a father who said, “you can talk to him, don’t talk to him.” May he be at peace, and may you find peace for yourselves. Debra Richard
To the family, “May the peace of God guard your hearts through the mental powers of Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:7. Donna, I’m going to send you a personal message when I get back to Louisiana. Mack was such a great friend, always had a listening ear. When you talked to him, he would say, “oh yeah,” now if he had an opinion, he would definitely express it. Talked to him last on his birthday. My brother called me and told me about his death. He knew Mack from the days before he got a bike, when they used to drag race their cars at the strip in Fremont, when he had his 69 Road Runner. Such a noisy place. Everybody knows how much he loved his bike, but he also loved the Pacific Ocean, loved South Lake Tahoe. Especially fond of Paul and Mr. Lane. Never knew anyone who loved so much to laugh, and make others laugh. Always had something funny to say, never met a stranger. Loved to joke with kids, flash that great smile. Remember when we went to the 1st playoff and World Series games at the coliseum in 72, Bart hadn’t been open long, we took the train from our house to the coliseum. We were jammed in like sardines. He was so angry. We were standing, and we didn’t even have to hold on, even with the kids. He said, he would never ride Bart, again. He, said, “f### Bart. I never mentioned Bart again. He eventually got over it, and started riding Bart to work. Lol I had my first motorcycle ride with him. That’s when you didn’t have to wear helmets, you could just let your hair blow in the wind.:-) I sure hope Donald and his wife from Standard Oil/Chevron know about his no longer being with us. I hope that everybody who is on fb, takes the opportunity to post his obituary by means of this site, to the news feed. Mack had many friends from all walks of life. They need to know he is no longer with us. Donna, Sharon, Lizz, Gene, Deshanda, and Kay, we are all better for having had him in our lives. I know there is a resurrection because the Bible says so, Acts 5:28,29; I hope I am approved, because I sure want to see him again, his has been guaranteed.
I met Mack many years ago and he was fun loving and loved life. My love and sincere sympathy to the family and May you rest in heaven.
