Jermalen Marmon
My most funniest and heartfelt memory of Mahisha was when we both went to Merrit College to check out the LVN program. What we found out that day made us look at each with the biggest wow on our faces. When the instructor gave us the pamphlet Mahisha opened it up and started to giggle so hard it made me hit her leg to stop but she kept on giggling with her eyes so wide open it made me want to see what she saw. When I opened the pamphlet, I too started to giggle and laugh saying in my head yeah right I don’t have this and I sure as heck don’t have that! I too started to giggle because I felt like her, what am I doing here and I am just wasting my time. When we stepped out of the class room, I had the biggest disappointment on my face and felt like my dreams we’re never going to come true. Mahisha said to me “no matter what Jerma DONT STOP going to school you’ll find what your good at.” When I lifted my head up to say thank you I saw a pair of the most darling loving eyes, and a comforting smile along with the biggest hug that just made me feel like everything WILL BE OKAY. She talked about her calling in Public Health, as I talked about the heart. When we went our separate ways that day we have never lost contact whether it’s Facebook or text. When I told Mahisha that I got accepted to cardiac school, she was finishing her Masters. I told her that she accomplished her dream and I am so proud of you, and then she said “now it’s your turn.” This will forever be embed in my brain because she gave me hope. I want to remember Mahisha as a beautiful, smart, fun, loving, courageous women who has always gave her heart first. I miss you and will always have you and the family in my prayers. When my dreams come true it will definetely be because of you. Love Always Jermalen Marmon
