Luisa Paulina Blue's Obituary
Luisa Paulina Blue, age 73, of Hayward, CA, passed away the morning of June 4th, 2025, in Oakley, CA, after succumbing to pancreatic cancer. She was born February 4th, 1952, in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of the late Joe and Anita Vicerra.
Luisa was proceeded in death by her husband of over 45 years, David Blue, Father Joe Vicerra, Mother Anita Vicerra, Brothers Victor Vicerra and Jerry Vicerra.
Luisa dedicated her life's work to the labor of movement as an activist for her beloved employer, Service Employees International Union. She was also one of the founding members of Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, where she fought for the rights of Asian/Pacific Americans. Her work extended across the globe where she met many friends and mentored countless people. She enjoyed traveling the world, eating adventurous cuisine and relaxing in her backyard.
Luisa is survived by her daughter Melody Vigil, her son Cyrus Blue, daughter in law Akemi Blue, grandchildren Jane Vigil, Maya Blue, Anisa Vigil, Cyrus Blue Jr., Dhalia Vigil, Matthias Vigil and Lana Blue. She also leaves behind many family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
A memorial of life will be held at 3pm, Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at Chapel of the Chimes, in Hayward, CA.
