Lily Iskander JonarisResident of Pleasanton, CAMar. 8, 1964 – Nov. 16, 2015Lily Iskander Jonaris passed away on Monday at 5:20 pm after a brave battle with cancer. She touched many people with her courage, kindness, and dedication to her family.Lily was born in Cairo, Egypt, to Milad and Laila Iskander, where she spent the early years of her childhood. She moved to California with her parents where she did most of her K-12 education. Lily went to the California College of Arts and Crafts where she received a degree in interior architecture. Lily was an active member of the community of the St Antonius Coptic Orthodox church in Hayward. She also worked as a property appraiser until she married her husband on June 10, 1995.Lily enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked cooking, travel, going to museums, and visiting parks. She also volunteered in the Democratic party of which she was a member.Lily is preceded in death by her mother, Laila Iskander. She is survived by her loving husband, George, her wonderful daughters, Christine and Claire, her father, Milad Iskander, and her brother, Emad Iskander.Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service that will be held on Friday Nov. 20 at 12:00 pm in St Antonius Coptic Orthodox church, 2500 Hansen Rd , Hayward. Burial is to follow at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
