My dear dear Aunty…..There are so many memories I could share from your laughter, your teasing, your spunkiness, your stubborness, your awesome cooking to your memorable “Gon funnit!” as you balled your hand in a fist! My most treasured memories are the teachable moments, the example you gave all of us of how to put family first above everything, to love unconditionally and to open your heart to people. You always made all of us feel at home and for me, you were like my second mom and I just cant fully explain just how much I love you. Thank you for all that you have given me and the love you gave so freely. Thank you for loving my children in such a way that they felt just as special. Thank you for showing me how to make gandule rice and long rice! yummy! Thank you, thank you, thank you just for making my life so much richer and blessing me my whole entire life!! I wonder if you and your sisters realize what a gift you gave all of us cousins…You 5 sisters were so close and spent so much time together that us cousins grew up close as well. We have all grown in separate directions with our own families but we still feel the closeness when we are together because you sisters gave us that foundation! Thank you! I will miss you so much aunty and I am so thankful for my visit that I had with you a few days before you could no longer talk to us. You made my day that day sharing with me a rare glimpse into how life was like when my mom and dad were just beginning to date! It was sooooo awesome! I will treasure the last words you said to me as I was leaving that day — you grabbed my face and looked straight in my eyes and said: I really really love you too! Oh Aunty I am so sad for us but so totally happy for you! You will be with all your loved ones that you have been missing especially your handsome husband again –my dear Uncle Johnny! How exciting for you! Please give my mom, dad and sister a hug and kiss for me and I would love a visit from all of you! Until we meet again……I love and thank you Aunty….. Love your niece, Jan
