Legacy… A small word that means so much. Past, Present and Future.Norma Sue “Janice” Barks, Mackey, Atack was born on July 28, 1939 in Malden, Missouri to Buford and Gena Barks. She died on February 12, 2016. She was a long time resident of Newark California for over 66 years. Her accomplishments are vast, daughter, mom, grandmother, friend at the heart of them. Savvy, smart, and determined her attitude. A career Realtor, owner of Red Carpet Real Estate, and All Property Management, she forged a road for women, in a time it was a tough road to travel. She has been a friend, confidant, counselor, and sponsor to so many. She was the true meaning a giving spirit.Jan is survived by, her children, Billie & Diana Mackey, Bradley & Mariann Mackey, Brenda & Ralph Pundt. Her grandchildren, “Her Heart” as she called them, Gim & Katie Chu, Garrett & Jayneen Pundt, Megan Mackey, Max & Kendall Mackey, Sam Mackey, Leo Mackey, Solomon Mackey, Michael Taylor and Her Bobby Bray. Her Great grandchildren Hampton Mackey, and Scarlett Chu, affectionately known as GWH, Grandma White Hair. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Becky Sue.Mom, you have given us everything. We thank you for staying with us for so long. You have taught us the beauty of a Family, in all its successes and failures. You fought to stay here with us until you knew that we could go on without you, even though we are not quite sure how. Be with us, watch over us. Be PROUD of what you left. Smart, Loving, Determined people. Values of hard work, love of family, and a lifetime of memories. We will honor you and remember you. We will value what you left us. We will stay Together.Legacy, big shoes to fill and you filled them beautifully.With laughter in our hearts, smiles on our face and tears in our eyes we Honor you. We will picture you in the arms of Our Becky.Arrangements are pending at this time. A private burial will be held.
