James Patrick Merryweather's Obituary
James Patrick Merryweather, born Friday, April 7th, 1950; Entered into rest on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. Age 63 years.Jim passed-away after a valiant battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit and positive outlook in life.Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 7, 1950. He was the 3rd child of Francis and Helen. He graduated from Saint Viator High School; earned his Bachelor of Science at Northern Illinois University, and earned his Ph.D in Biochemistry at Washington State University,He had made significant contributions to premier biotechnology companies over 30 years of his life. He was also a baseball coach. He enjoyed many different kinds of music, movies, sports, fishing, baking and traveling.Jim is survived by his loving wife, Gina; children Emily, Ethan, Julian and Derak; stepchildren Hugh and Liana; granchildren Elly, Brett, Andy, Matt and Ariel; brothers John and Tom; sisters Kathy and Elizabeth.His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Chapel of the Chimes Reflection Chapel, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. Burial followed at 11:30 am, at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, immediately adjacent to the funeral home.
