Jaime S. Fanuncio, Jr. Oct. 10, 1947 – Oct. 25, 2016 Resident of Hayward, CAJaime passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends after a difficult battle with prostate cancer. Jaime was born on October 10, 1947 in Manila, Philippines where he lived until 1976. He was the 1st of 5 children. He attended Fort Bonifacio High School and Feati University. He earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil and Sanitary Engineering and began a career at the City of Hayward. He retired in Oct. 2016 after serving 38 years as Assistant Civil Engineer. He was married to Marilou Ballelos on Jan. 31, 1976 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Manila, Philippines. He was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church and participated in the choir. He was also a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He was involved in prayer groups including the Union City and Fremont Santo Nino groups and the Bleeding Heart.Jaime was a funny, kind, sweet, smart and loving individual. He enjoyed helping family and friends with different projects, watching TV, playing the lotto, completing Sudoku puzzles, listening to songs by Neil Diamond and the Everly Brothers. He liked washing all of the family’s cars and spending time with family. Important events include the births of his 3 children and 8 grandchildren.Jaime is survived by his wife Marilou Fanuncio; son Jerel Fanuncio (Cristina) from Daly City, CA; daughter Joylene Tamse (Ryan) from San Ramon, CA; daughter Jerilynn Leduc from Plano, IL; grandchildren Jaleena, Janessa, Jayden, Joshua, Jerick, Rozlyn, Jozef and Alana; mother Aurora Fanuncio from Hayward, CA; sister Jenny Quiming from the Philippines, sister Miriam Mangonon (Jim) from the Philippines; sister Dulce Fanuncio (Giampero) from Rome, Italy; sister Larmi Ocampo (Nelson) from Hayward, CA.
