I know that this is very late; but, I just came across Gordon’s obit. I served with Gordon in the Air Force, to be exact, Gordon and I somehow were assigned together for nearly our entire enlistment. We were in basic as the same time but in different training flights so we didn’t know each other. We went through tech school together at Goodfellow AFB. We then went to Turkey (18 mths) where we worked together in Charlie fight. After, Turkey we went to NKP Thailand together for 12 months. We were sent back to the states in Nov. 1973 and ended up being assigned to the same office at Mather AFB until we were both discharged on 4/5/1974. That means that Gordon and I served together form Oct. 1970 to Apr. 1974. It is very unusual to serve with someone for more that one tour of duty. I have fond memories of him and his friendship. Military friendship seem to drift away as people leave and go their own way. I wish we had kept in contact. Sorry for your loss.
