RIP my Ram fan friend
I met George thru a Rams board on AOL in the mid 90’s. I had just come back from the Middle East and found this board filled with people that proved really good people were out there. George was one of those folks who genuinely cared about others. Never a bad thing to say. Each day he did the grunt work of bringing news to our board about our beloved Rams. As he became ill, he connected with us on a different, far more personal level, but still with the class and dignity we came to expect from George. We all were better people for having George as an example. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. All my families thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones during this challenging time.
You’ll be missed George. From a Ram fan friend you’ve corresponded with for years, but never met. Peace to you and yours.
George and I became friends through our blind loyalty of the LA Rams. Seeking like-minded souls we found each other on an internet chat room dedicated to Ram fans back in the early days of the internet. On this board and the other groups that followed, we shared stories of our Rams and personal stories as well. While never meeting George in person, I felt his persona liked he lived next door. A gentle, honest and well lived man who contributed to our fandom with a personal touch that resonated with our group in a peaceful and meaningful way. Everyone on our board will miss him. I hope all who read this know that George touched a great many of us all over the country and some international, over decades, with his warmth, tireless commitment to his Rams and our group. R.I.P my friend, you will be sorely missed…
I too am a member of the Ram Fans group that George belonged to. It’s a small but great group of people who have become like family over our interest in the team. George recently had become really active in the group posting articles to keep us up to date. It was always great to see his posts in the morning for me to get caught up. Rest In Peace George, We Love You.Marty
George has been a consistently positive member of our Rams fan group online for nearly 25 years. He kept us up to date daily on Rams news and articles and was actively posting up until the day before he passed. He will be greatly missed.I wish all of his family my condolences. I am so sorry for your loss.
You will be missed fine Sir!Rams fan forever!!
I knew George for decades but we never met. I’ve known him through the power of the internet and our mutual love of the LA Rams. Regardless of how he needed the group discussions may have gotten, George was always a calming presence and never wants to jump into the fray with anything other than kind words to help keep this group together. He post to articles for us for years along with his great commentary displaying his great knowledge of the game. He will be missed by everyone within our group. We love you George Regardless of how heated the group discussions may have gotten, George was always a calming presence and never once jumped into the fray with anything other than kind words to help keep this group together. I knew George online for almost 25 years. We both loved the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers. I never remember George having a bitter word toward anyone. He will be missed in our online Rams’ family. I would have been honored to meet him in person. My best wishes to his family during this very difficult time.Mark Vinson Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
It was only 30 years ago, that I “certified” George to become a supervisory trainer for Alameda County. George became one of my best trainers, telling his stories with humor and wisdom, as he taught others how to supervise or develop their careers in the County. We have since become close friends, especially in our retirement, enjoying our birthday lunches with other County colleagues. George was continuously urging me to retire and enjoy other aspects of my life. I thank you George; I am loving my retirement life with family, travel, and hobbies. I will miss your stories and support through all these years of friendship. God bless that you are in a better place, free of pain and suffering. Much love to your family and friends.
