Frederic David Cook's Obituary
Fred David Cook, age 61 of Livermore California Died on Wednesday, November 12th 2014, at the place he loved best – Hangar 33, on Airway Blvd. Livermore Municipal Airport in California. He was the caring and lifelong domestic partner of Ellen Brownell (RN). Born December 26th, 1952 in Fresno California he was the son of Ambrosia Cook and the late Lawrence Acey Cook.Fred was an aviation mechanic and an exceptional pilot. Fred earned his private pilots license while in high school. Fred flew a Fairchild PT-26 aircraft, which in his early twenties he rebuilt, assembled, and won the Merced Airshow High-Point Trophy for best restoration in 1978.Fred was a frequent and passionate supporter of Bat World Sanctuary and his many humane efforts included frequent lectures and volunteering in bat rehabilitation and releases for multiple Animal Shelters, schools, and Humane Society locations around the San Francisco Bay Area.Fred is survived by his lifelong partner Ellen Brownell, Mother Ambrosia, Brother Lawrence, Brother Michael with Wife Yolanda Villa Cook and Nephews Diego and Nicolas Cook. Fred also leaves behind Aunt Virginia and her husband Charles Ybarra. Fred is also survived by a number of cousins and 2nd cousins on both his mother’s side of the family (Venegas) and his father’s side of the family (Cook, Baker) as well as numerous family and many, many, friends for whom he had deep regard. He was pre-deceased by Father Lawrence Acey Cook and Sister Ruby Anne Cook.Services for Fred will be held on November 22nd at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. Fred will be available for viewing from 12PM to 2PM. Service will begin at 2PM.Condolences may be sent to Chapel of the Chimes.
