Frank W. Heigh's Obituary
Frank Wayne Heigh, known affectionately by some family as “Skip”, was born on September 9, 1946 and passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, August 1, 2016 in San Leandro, CA after a health struggle in the hospital and rehabilitation center. Frank was born in Hastings, Nebraska to the parents of Francis Albert Heigh and Wilma Alice Heigh. Frank is survived by his beloved family: wife of 47 years, Karen Ann Heigh, daughters Sandy (Joe) Plechaty & Amy (Dave) Johansen, Grandchildren Will, Carina & Christian Plechaty and Ryan & Hailey Johansen. Sister Kay Blend, nephew Aaron (Erika) Blend, niece Amanda Blend, Sister in Law Patty Giovanetti, nephew Nick Giovanetti and grandnieces Chloe & Lydia Blend and many others.Frank served in the Navy for six years and spent his entire career in electronic engineering. He traveled many places on family vacations like Hyannis, Hawaii, Paris, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Disneyland and internationally to Taiwan on business. He was a resident, along with his wife, in Hayward for 42 years.He was a wonderful, loving and supportive Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Neighbor and Friend. He enjoyed fixing things, playing chess, blackjack, tennis & basketball, gardening, snow skiing, telling jokes, cooking, barbequing, watching Husker football and basketball on TV as well as shooting his guns in the Sandhills of Nebraska. He was very generous, kind, calm, analytical, rational and patient. He always put his family first and being with his family was his absolutely favorite thing. He will be loved and missed forever by all who knew him.Please come help us celebrate Frank’s life at the following planned services. Chapel of Chimes, Hayward Viewing 10-11am 11am Service, followed immediately by gravesite service with military honors 1:30pm Luncheon Reception in Fellowship Hall at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 7421 Amarillo Road, Dublin, CA
