Today was so hard saying a final goodbye to the best dad I could ever wish to have. He made an even better Grandfather. As being Frank and Karen’s neighbor for the past two and a half years, I feel very fortunate to have met such kind and loving people. They instantly made me feel welcomed to the neighborhood and I found much joy when seeing Frank doing his yard work. Hard worker, yes, in the blazing sun…he’d have his lawn chair out there and took needed breaks, and just got right back up when ready. I will miss lending a helping hand while getting a dose of his good (one liner) humor. My heart and prayers go out to all who knew him, he will be truly missed. Back in middle school and high school, when I would go over to visit Sandy, I was always impressed by Mr. and Mrs. Heigh’s hospitality. They welcomed their daughters’ friends and made us feel at ease, welcomed, and at home. Now we imagine heaven welcoming Mr. Heigh to his everlasting home, looking down in love on his beloved family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. My heart aches when I think of Frank’s sudden and unexpected passing. I shall always remember him as an extraordinarily loving, kind, gentle, and generous husband, father, grandfather, and friend. I truly consider it a blessing to have known him, and feel such great sadness in knowing Karen, Sandy, Amy, and all the family are having to bear so tragic and profound a loss. The world will not be the same without Skip. What a kind and loving person he was to all he met. Arriving unexpectedly from Alberta, Canada a number of years ago Frank checked his Family Tree to see where we fit in. Karen, Frank and girls welcomed us and made us feel at home. Their hospitality and kindness shone through. Our condolences to all of the family, including Kay who took a special interest in our roots. We first met at Sheep Creek,outside of Rossland BC, when Kay and Skip and their folks came up to visit,as kay and Skips grandpa lived with us for years. What a gentle person was Skip and kinda shy. Frank and I along with Tom Carlson and a few others worked closely during the late 70s. Frank, hard working and smart, kept me from making too many mistakes, and showed me many traits that made him a giant in my eyes. Rest easy Good Friend. Milt Louer
I would like to share a few memories of my brother, Skip. He was the best big brother often letting me tag along when he went fishing or hunting. He furnished the family with many pheasant dinners as well as fish. He was a high school star basketball and football player. He had a hoop set up in our back yard and practiced shooting over and over again. He was also very good and played on softball teams. He would work in the hayfields all day then come into town to play these games at night. He taught me to catch a ball in the pocket of a baseball glove or else! It hurt! He is also the one that taught me to drive a stick shift car. He had unending patience. I would like to add he was very smart with top grades. I was so blessed to have such a wonderful, kind, generous big brother. He was always there for me and I can’t express how much I will miss him. Love you always and forever, your sister Kay Marie
