I was mom’s first grandkid. I spent my childhood hearing my dad and uncles call their mother mom, so naturally I did the same. She loved it. I have many memories when she lived on Airport road. I was a professional baker, game show player, and garage sale bargain shopper by age 4. I have many memories of her visiting every couple weeks when she lived in LA. She would love to show me her nails because she actually let them grow out and she was able to paint them and make them look so nice. I had the bad habit that she did, we both bit our nails. It was her mission to get me to stop just as she did. That was over 15 years ago. I finally quit 5 month ago. She would be proud. When she moved to Ripon, I have many memories of family gatherings, holidays, and random visits. No matter how old I was, she would always tell me I was her baby girl. When I was 4 years old I looked forward to our daily nap. At 27, she would still ask me if I needed a nap. With work and grad school, it became a little hard to have the quality nap time we had when I was younger. What I wouldn’t give to have one more nap with her. I know she is in a bettter place and no longer has any pain. I know she is watching down on me. I love you Mom!!!
