Elvira Gonzalez, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 17, 1934, in Nambe, New Mexico, to Tomas and Concepcion Martinez.
Elvira married the love of her life Alfred Gonzalez, with whom she built a devoted family. She was a cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and a friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Gonzalez and her husband Alfred Gonzalez. She is survived by their children: Doreena Estrada, Isabelle Sandoval, Rosie Torres, Vera Gonzalez, Lawrence Gonzalez, Richard Gonzalez, daughter-in-law Tina Gonzalez, as well as 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elvira deeply valued time spent with her family, enjoying the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her hospitality, always welcoming visitors with home-cooked meals and fresh tortillas. Elvira especially treasured her weekly Thursday breakfast dates with her son Richard, preparing a meal for him every week.
