Donald Tillman Dreisbach's Obituary
Donald Tillman Dreisbach, resident of Tracy, California, passed away on March 6, 2022. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion and generosity, but mostly for his sense of humor. Don was born in Oakland, California to Tillman and Gladys Dreisbach on February 15, 1934. After graduating from high school, he went to work at Pacific Bell, where he met the love of his life, Patricia Snyder. Don and Pat were married on April 18, 1954 and that same year Don enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country. In 1958 Pat and Don moved to Union City, where they raised their four children: Donna, Deanna, David and Doug. Don found his calling with the Hayward Fire Department. During his 27 year career he advanced through the ranks to the position of Assistant Fire Chief and retired in 1989 at the age of 55. In 1998 Don and Pat moved to Tracy, where they made the most of their retirement and lived life to the fullest. They enjoyed many years of traveling in their motorhome. Don was an avid golfer, playing with the Valley Golfers in Manteca and he also enjoyed playing senior softball. Don was a very active member of the Tracy Elks Lodge 2031. Don was preceded in death by wife Patricia in 2017, and is survived by his loving children Donna May (Bob), Deanna Kitchuck (John), David Dreisbach (Kathy) and Douglas Dreisbach (Laura); 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Shepherd. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tracy Elks Lodge, 6400 11th Street, Tracy, California 95304, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
