Dolores Macias' Obituary
Dolores Macias, a loving mother, grandmother, and cousin, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 surrounded by her family. Born on March 16, 1938, in Oakland, California, Dolores lived a life full of love, creativity, and devotion to her family.
Dolores was married to the love of her life, Joe Macias, for 46 wonderful years until his passing in 2004. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with music, dancing, and laughter. Always the last to leave the dance floor, Dolores and Joe were a true example of enduring love.
She is survived by her four beloved children: Rose Macias, Joseph “Pepe” Macias, Lisa Macias, and Belinda Goulart; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with two more on the way; her dear brother Rudy Garcia; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Maryann Garcia, who passed in 2019.
Dolores had a lifelong passion for arts and crafts. She found joy in creating handmade dolls, stained glass pieces, and collecting antiques. She loved camping trips, wine tasting adventures, and celebrating life’s simple pleasures. Her greatest joy, however, came from being a grandmother. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, never missing a soccer match, softball game, track meet, or folklorico performance. She proudly collected college pillows from each of their alma maters—a testament to how much she valued education and family accomplishments.
Her legacy is one of love, creativity, and unwavering support. Dolores will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
