Dolores Jean Egelston's Obituary
Dolores Jean Altamirano Egelston born April 27, 1928 to Theodore & Lillian Altamirano in Oakland CA. Attended Hamilton Jr High School where she met the love of her life, Roderick Egelston. Rod & Dolores both attended Fremont High School in Oakland and were soon after, married May 8, 1948 and started their family with the birth of their first son, Gregory Keith in 1949, Jeffrey David in 1952, Patricia Lynn in 1959 and Sandra Jean in 1962 and moved to Castro Valley to raise their family and lived on Ogilvie Drive and made memories for 31 years.Dolores had several jobs in her lifetime, from working when they got married for a dentist office, for the Census Bureau interviewing families in Oakland, and her favorite job was working for family friends who owned a donut shop and lunch grill in Oakland. Primarily, Dolores was a homemaker, Mom, and grandma.Dolores and Rod moved to Ripon in 1993 into their first brand new house and enjoyed 12 years exploring San Joaquin County.In 2005 for health reasons, Rod & Dolores relocated to Tracy to be near Greg & Sandy where they lived in a beautiful home until Rod passed away in 2011.Dolores moved into Oasis Community care home in Tracy after Rod passed away when she broke her leg and needed full time care. She flourished living with the family Jason & Hainee Bolton and their children, Marck, Hayden and Haylee as they cared for her with love and treated her like family. She loved those children and they called her Grandma Dolores.Dolores lived in a very happy environment and was always smiling. She passed away Monday June 27, 2016 feeling very loved.Dolores is pre deceased by her parents, Theodore & Lillian, her sister Juanita Mumaw and husband Don; her brother Leslie Altamirano and grandson Greg Egelston Jr.Also all of her Egelston in laws, Doug & Sylvia; Dallas, Donna Dalene, and Dwila & Jack.The biggest heartache of Dolores and Rod’s lives was to lose their precious daughter Patti at the young age of 29.Survived by children, Greg & wife Karen; Jeff & wife Denna; Sandy & husband Greg. Grandchildren: Janeen, Sara , Aaron, Keith, Megan, Tessa, Kate, David, Jeffrey, Barb, Matt, Erik & fiancé Mackenna; Kelsey, and Traci .Great grand children: Danica, Brooke, Jordan, Kyndal, Hannah, Mackenzie, Benjamin, Ava, Ruby, Olivia, Hazel, Lacy and soon to be born Grayson Egelston.Nieces and Nephews, Ron & Kathy, Denny & Barb, Gary, Judy, Bill & Lynn, Sue & Tom, Kathi & Ernie, Jon & Sam, and Dana.
