David Michael Galindo's Obituary
David M. Galindo
October 29, 1982 - February 18, 2023
David M. Galindo, son of Grace Huerta and Michael Galindo, was 40 years old when he arrived at the pearly gates. An avid learner and over-achiever, David graduated from Newark Memorial High School, University of Arizona with not 1, but 3 degrees in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Spanish, and Cal State East Bay with a Master’s in Education. The stars were aligned when David met the love of his life, Diane, in an Astronomy class at U of A. They married in July 2008 and their love grew stronger with time.
David’s gift, being able to connect with everyone he met, was shared with many students over the course of his career at Fremont and Newark School Districts and the All Saints’ Youth Ministry/Confirmation Program. He often told extravagant, comedic, and mostly believable stories with metaphors to life to reach his audience. His legacy lives on in the people whose lives he forever changed with his gift.
David’s thirst for life and interest in business resulted in the creation of DOHP – Decorate Our Home Planet 3Trees. His vision for DOHP was to develop and market an affordable, sustainable clothing line manufactured from recycled materials. In his pursuit of this endeavor, he showed others how to live a full and deeply meaningful life.
David was an avid reader and talented writer/storyteller. He enjoyed sport cars, travel, sports, music, technology, art, history, politics, languages, gaming, photography, and food. He was an empathetic teacher and motivational speaker who gave the gift of his time to his students, staff, and parents. He is survived by his wife Diane Galindo, parents Grace Huerta and Michael Galindo, sisters Victoria Piatt and Valerie Spencer, brother Mike Jr. from San Diego, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephew. We are thankful to everyone for reaching out during this time.
