After six decades on this earth, I have had the honor to be apart of my beautiful family that my grandparents created. Now with a heavy heart & tearful eyes our beautiful grandmother has taken a journey to be with her family in heaven. She was the true inspiration of how a woman takes care of her family. Grams always had the kitchen open, so you could talk about our life’s passions and she would be there offering the straight forward advice. I now understand why my grandparents were together so long, but the fact was simple. “Love Family Forever” Grams has watched her family grow from poverty to prosperity in all aspects of life. I can only imagine what she might have thought of the changes in our country over her lifetime. Her undying love & loyalty for her family with that straight forward point of view that she shared with us will never be forgotten. Grandma’s laugh will forever be a part of our lives. My grandparents were able to create one of the biggest families in California. I remember asking her what her name was when I was very young, and she had told me that it was “Bea” in which I replied, “No Grandma Bees bite”! This started a wonderful fun filled journey. We all come from a very small town and grew up poor and I can always remember seeing my grandmother in the kitchen cooking up some rice, beans & chorizo & eggs for breakfast. Everyone of my aunts & uncles would be at the table eating breakfast and from their take off to work. It had become a family ritual to come by for breakfast. I can always remember the laughter at the table. One of my childhood memories was: My grandmother would always ask me as she grabbed her breasts: “Chocolate or Vanilla”, & I would reply “Strawberry”! (In my head) It made me ask “How long have I been nursing”? There were so many stories to tell We have a great family I Love You Grams, your Laughter & Love will fill the Halls of Heaven!
