Augusta Ann Newcomb's Obituary
Augusta (Gussy) Newcomb entered peacefully into rest in Sonora, California, on June 16, 2017. She was 92 years old. Gussy was born in Fremont (Warm Springs), California on April 8, 1925 to Joseph and Adeline Vargas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Sherman Newcomb and also all of her siblings, Norman, Elsie, Emma Wilbert and Lorrayne. She adored spending time with her boyfriend, Ernie Silva. She a beloved stepmother to Sheila Blair and stepchildren Dyanne Bolt and Christopher Psuik, and loving aunt to Maxine Morkin (deceased), Lynda Carol Firth, Sandy Banzet, Darleen Cooley, Sharon Vargas, Glen Vargas and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as having numerous cousins. Gussy lived the majority of her life in Fremont and over the years had belonged to various Portuguese organizations. She was recently living by her family in Sonora. A service will be help at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward on June 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
