CAPTAIN Anthony Miranda, USMC Retired, passed peacefully on January 28, 2014. He leaves behind his loving wife, Gilda Miranda and his 2 sons Michael Anthony and Bruce Douglas Miranda, 2 grandsons Cody and Dillon Miranda and also his 2 step daughters Cynthia Putman (and son-in-law Dale Putman) and Donna Robertson, plus 5 step grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Captain Miranda was a highly honored, 34 year Marine Officer, who fought in 3 wars: World War II, Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. Services to be held at Chapel of the Chimes: 32992 Mission Blvd Hayward, CA 94544 on February 06, 2014 at 10:00 am.The Title “United States Marines”It cannot be inherited Nor can it ever be purchased. You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and it cannot be lent. You alone and our own have earned it with your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.“Civilians cannot and will not understand us because they are not one of us. The Corps – we love it, live it and shall die for it. If you have never been in it, you shall never understand it.”
