Alfred Gebauer and Alma James on Alma’s 90th birthday.
I will always remember my Aunt Alma, even though we lived miles away. I was always connected to her. She never forgot to send me, mom, dad, and my brother, Alfred, birthday cards. She also remembered us at Christmas. Mom and my birthday was in March, so at the begnning of March I started my trek to the mailbox everyday to see if mine and mom’s birhday card had come. It always arrived before our birthdays. I will always treasure her in my memory. Alma Hoffmann, niece; daughter of Alfred, her brother.
From the times that I had with her, I just loved her. She is such a sweet person. We will miss her. I wish we could have lived closer so we could have spent more time together. She was always so positive, and loved life. All my love and best to the family. Alma will always be in our hearts. Joyce Parish and family
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending several weeks with Gram in the summers. My sisters & I would play in the garage, in the attic of the garage, in Aunt Carol’s backyard, take Mike & Lorrene’s dog Ashley for walks, swim in Betty’s backyard pool, etc. We loved her chicken noodle soup, chocolate chip cookies and her making Tang for us. But my most favorite thing was her spoiling us with ice cream… Neopolitan ice cream in a box. She would open the cardboard container and cut it into the three flavors and put each big rectangle of ice cream in three bowls! Alice got the vanilla, I got the strawberry and Priscilla got the chocolate. I thought we were the luckiest girls alive! Love you forever Gram! ~Merri James Degiuli
