Yue Wong King's Obituary
Mr. Yue Wong King born on 2/10/30 and passed away peaceful on November 6, 2011. He was born in Chekiang province, Ding Hai City, from the Shen Jai Mun Village, ChinaThe 1st son of Pao Sin King and Yow Com Kong, he is the 2nd child with one elder sister and one younger brother. His father died when he was only 16, which then left the task of raising all three children to the mother. It was a very difficult task to raising 3 younger children as a widowed mother. So at a young age of 18 in 1948 he arrived in Hong Kong largely due to the influence of his Uncle, in search of fame and fortune. At the age of 24 he met the to be Mrs. King, fell in love, got married at the age of 27 and subsequently produced 3 wonderful children, Lorna, Lawrence, and Irene, Mr. and Mrs. King are proud grandparents to Victoria and Kevin, and Frank and Thomas.In 1952, he joined the British Navy and he was assigned to the laundry facilities, it was there that he learned his current trade, at the time of assignment he mentioned 'I didn't like the work at first but I got used to it fast'!! While he was in the Navy from 1956 to 1966, he was promoted from sailor, to quartermaster, and 2nd boatswain. Then in 1966 he formed his own ship laundrymen supplying company and was responsible for 300 laundrymen to some 24 ships around the world. This was quite an accomplishment for a simple man looking for a job with the British Navy.In 1974, he developed a significant relationship with the Royal Viking Line, he was hired to be the laundry chief. He was the primary influence in setting up the laundry facilities on all 3 Viking ships.In 2003, after working for 55 years, at the ripe age of 73 he finally retired to enjoy the company of his wonderful wife and family. Living a wonderful and carefree life in San Leandro with his son, Lawrence Maria and their family.During his retirement, he enjoyed growing vegetables, going to the Casino trips, and visiting his children, family and friends in Hong Kong and China.Unfortunately, in April 2011, he was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, his strong spirit to remain healthy and alive he put all of his effort to fight the cancer. On November 6, 2011 at 6:10pm he lost his valiant fight against the cancer and passed away peacefully with all of his children, grandchildren and family members at his side. His entire life was devoted to the attitude of taking care and loving his wife, children and family, raising and cherishing his grandchildren. In his career he was totally loyal and devoted to his career and helping numerous new intern laundrymen from his village, he gain the respect of all of his friends and fellow workmen, he was always willing to give his last dollar to help his fellow friends and relatives, for this attitude all of his friends will never forget him and truly will miss him dearly.The world, his friends, and his family has lost a truly genuine caring and loving man, he is now in God's hand and I am sure he is helping him too.
