Winifred Jean DeBord's Obituary
Winifred Jean DeBord, age 94, of Hayward CA passed away with her daughters by her side on April 12, 2019. She was born February 5, 1925 in Minneapolis MN, but was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a graduate of Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. She moved to California after high school and was a secretary. She met her husband, Robert “Pinky” DeBord on a blind date. They were together until his death in 2005.Win became a housewife after the birth of their second daughter. She was an avid reader, and amateur geologist, and tended her flowers faithfully. Win and Pink became members of the Hui O’Holo Holo Hawaiian club where they developed many long lasting friendships.She is survived by her daughters, Iris (Bill) Perkins or Anacortes, WA and Diane (Steve) Brum of Hayward, CA. Win was a loving Grandmother to Andrea (Teun) Brum-Oome, Tracy Perkins, Christopher Brum, Geoff (Paige) Perkins, and Ashley Brum, and 3 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in her death by her parents, Cecelia and Marion Spencer, her husband Robert DeBord, and her brother William Spencer.There will be a Mass on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Clements Catholic Church 750 Calhoun St., Hayward.
