William Weir's Obituary
William “Bill” Charles Weir Nov. 4, 1922 – Sept. 24, 2011 Resident of Castro Valley, CA Bill Weir is survived by his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Weir, his daughter Helen Weir Bonds, his son-in-law Jay Bonds and his three grandsons, Jared, Travis and Braden, all of Castro Valley. He is also survived by his sister Jean Phillips and his nieces Kay Vaughn and Gladys Christie. Bill grew up in Albany Ca, and graduated from Albany High and Armstrong Business College. He served in the US Army during World War II from 1942-1945 in New Guinea and the Phillipines as part of the 14th AntiAircraft Command. Bill worked as a buyer for various companies throughout his lifetime. He loved spending time with his family and took particular joy in his three grandsons. He enjoyed reading, body surfing and spending time at the ocean. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Castro Valley, on Monday, October 3 @ 2:00 p.m.
