William Michael Ogolin's Obituary
William “Bill” Ogolin passed-away at home on Sunday, October 20, 2013; he was surrounded by his loving family. He was 73 years old.Bill was born in Butte, Montana on October 3, 1940, and moved to San Francisco at a young age. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1958. He married the love of his life, Sandra, in 1963. Bill worked 30-plus years at Coors West Distributing in Redwood City and Henry M. Stevens at Candlestick Park. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and cooking, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sandy, and taking trips back to Montana. He spent many years coaching his sons in sports and later enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. Through the years, you could always find Bill doing a project around the house with one of his three children assisting him; he was a great father to his kids and grandfather to his grandkids, and all of them looked at him as a mentor. Bill was also a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and friend.Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra L. Ogolin; his mother, Josephine P. Kelly; his father, William V. Ogolin, and brother, Cornelius “Con” Ogolin. He is survived by his loving and devoted children, William C. Ogolin (Dana) of Union City; Michael Ogolin (Sandy) of Pleasanton, and Jennifer Ogolin (Christopher Galea) of San Francisco; his loving grandchildren, Anthony Ogolin, Dylan Ogolin and Jackson Ogolin; his sisters, Shirley Compton (John) of Bakersfield and Diane Tang (Don deceased) of Aliso Viejo. Bill is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and friends. He always kept up with the news of his family and was proud of the accomplishments and milestones that each and every one of them made.The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided to him by the DaVita Dialysis team of Union City; his doctors and staff at Kaiser Fremont/Hayward and South San Francisco. Bill will be missed by all of the lives he touched, but comfort can be found knowing that he is now reunited with his love, Sandra Lee.A Celebration of Life was held to honor Bill on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 2:00 pm, at Oyster Point Yacht Club, 911 Marina Blvd, South San Francisco, CA 94083.
