William P Mccabe's Obituary
WILLIAM PHILLIP MCCABE was born on 4 August 1950, in San Francisco, California, to David Robert
Benitez Sr. and Edith "Pinky" May Benitez [Pinkstaff] . He served in the army during the Vietnam war
from March 1971 and was honorably discharged in December 1972. It was during this time that he met
and fell in love with THU THI MCCABE. They married on Sep 21, 1972 in San Francisco, California. He has
been a constant source of love and support ever since.
He worked as an Aerospace engineer at Lockheed Martin and was honored for his accomplishments in
important missions including the Hubble Space Telescope and Phoenix Mission to Mars. In retirement he
enjoyed updating his home and researching family Genealogy.
On June 3 he was released from the confines of human existence, without pain and surrounded by loved
ones. He is survived by his wife Thu, daughter Van, step-daugher Lan, grand daughter Kimberly,
grandson Sunny, brother Steve and his wife Benita, brother Kenny and sister Debbie. He will be forever
loved and missed.
The family is holding a service to celebrate his life and a sendoff befitting someone so well loved. This
will be held on Friday, June 14 at Chapel of The Chimes in Hayward from 3:30 pm - 8:30 pm
ITINERARY
3:30 - 5:00 PM - Native Blessing and Remembrances
5:00 - 6:00 PM - Reception/ Social Hour
6:00 - 8:00 - Buddhist prayer and ceremony. (2 parts, prayer and family ceremony)
8:00 - 8:30 - bagpipes and cremation ceremony
In lieu of flowers, a donation box for donations to the monk will be provided, should you wish to donate
to his temple.
