I moved to Fremont in 1974 shortly after that I started having my haircut by bill at the Union City barbershop and then he went to work for The railroad. and talking about buying motorcycles together in 1979 and we lost touch .,. 35 years later In 2015 I met bill again at Good Guy car show looking at his car he came over to talk , I told him he look familiar asked where he worked he told me on the railroad and I told him I knew someone who work on railroad And used to be my barber his name was Bill Hauser .... he just smiled and said that’s me I asked him Are you serious OK .....he said I still have mine 1979 superguide then I knew that I have met Bill again he was always smiling ,..very pleasant to talk to ,very good man ......... will be missed

Loved this man. I met Bill back in 1984 he was the best friend of Steve who late became my husband. We we went on many bike runs together lots of pictures and memories. One of my favorite was going to Yosemite and heading dead on into a rain storm on the way back. We were not dressed for rain for sure and looked like drowned rats when we go back home. I will always remember his smile his love of life and his friendship.

I was in the last fireman's class on the Western Division of the SP in 1979 with Bill, and went thru the simulator with him, Dale Fowlar and Earl Richmond. A great time was had by all. We went to the Pomona Fairgrounds and saw, among all the other engines, the UP 4014. This of course is the engine that UP resurrected and is now out running around their system. Somewhere in my house is a shoebox holding boxes of slides, one of which is of Bill sitting on the engineer's seat of the Big Boy. I'm sure he would have loved to see it run. Bill was a great, easy going guy. Even though I haven't seen him in over 30 years, I will always have great memories.

I never knew Bill not to have a smile and a friendly words when greeting anyone.
