WILLI MAX WECKESSER's Obituary
Willi Max Weckesser passed away March 1, 2003 at the Veteran’s Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care in Martinez, California. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Henrietta, and by three daughters, Andrea McNall of San Ramon, Marsha Maes of Roseville, and Sandra Pickett of Pleasanton. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Melissa Lind, Melinda Thompson, Lindsey Fritts, and Cassandra Pickett, as well as three great grandchildren, Julia and Will Lind and Eric Fritts, Jr. He further leaves behind many loved relatives and wonderful friends.Willi was born in Kiel, Germany in 1915 and immigrated to the U.S. to live in Alameda, CA. in 1925. He served in the US Army in World War II in Alaska and Mexico. He raised his family in Oakland, California and retired fron civil service at the Naval Air Station, Alameda in 1971. Willi lived the last 33 years of his life in Walnut Creek. He was an avid water skier and loved swing dancing to the big band songs. In his retirement he enjoyed travel and cruise ship getaways, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and his many friends.Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, March 6, 2003 between 6:00-8:00pm and a funeral service on Friday, March 7, 2003 at 10:00am at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA.
