Wheeler (Bill) Peter Briant Jr.'s Obituary
Resident of Hayward, CaliforniaWheeler “Bill” Peter Briant Jr. was born September 19, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the second child and first born son to Alfred Wheeler Briant and Amelia Agnes Cousin. He married his sweetheart, Manuella Chase on September 19, 1939. They were married for 62 years. He was preceded in death by his wife 16 years ago and more recently by his daughter, Ann-Marie Briant as well as his son, David Briant and Granddaughter, Carla Ann McCoy. He is survived by his son, Robert Briant Sr. (and Lilli), Peter Briant (and Nora) and daughter, Carol Briant, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was a charismatic man that enjoyed spending time with family as well as friends especially the electrical workers retirement club and always had funny stories to tell. He left an imprint upon anyone that he encountered. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local number 595 for 67 years — 47 years active. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward, California. He was loved and adored by his family and he will be missed by all.Visitation Hours will be at Chapel of the Chimes on Tuesday, May 9th from 4:30pm – 7:00pm (32992 Mission Boulevard Hayward, CA 94544). The Rosary Reading will follow at that location from 7:00pm – 8:00pmA Memorial Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 10th at 10:30am (22824 2nd Street Hayward, CA 94541)Interment immediately following at the Chapel of The Chimes. Immediately following that there will be a a get-together at Wheeler’s favorite restaurant The Sizzler (24107 Hesperian Boulevard Hayward, CA). Anyone wishing to join us is welcome at this No Host celebration — all costs are per individual.
