Wayne L. Barker's Obituary
Beloved husband of Barbara S. Barker, who preceded him in death eight years earlier after 64 years of marriage. Wayne died peacefully in his sleep, looking forward to their reunion.A loving father, he is survived by his son, Ken (Gayle), daughter, Marina and daughterin- law Mickie, and their families. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Laurie and Sabrina, and son, Douglas. He will be greatly missed by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with his brother-in-law, Larry (Donna) Steed.Wayne had a pleasant, optimistic personality and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon). He served in many callings including 18 months of missionary service in Moscow and Niznenovgorod, Russia. Wayne was a retired electrical engineer and his wife, Barbara, had practiced for 20 years as a marriage and family counselor. Their practical and spiritual experience helped many people. Wayne Barker will be missed by all who knew him.A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 7th at 10:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 26101 Gading Road, Hayward, CA. Internment will follow in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park.
