Walter Daniel Bentley's Obituary
On October 22, 2025, Walter Daniel Bentley was sleeping peacefully when he was welcomed Home by his Savior, Jesus Christ. Walter was born on April 16, 1942, the youngest of four children, to Walter Joseph Bentley and Verda Redman Bentley.
After high school, Walter attended trade school in Oklahoma where he mastered the art of diesel mechanics. He then served our nation with a 20-year career in the United States Navy, after which he worked and retired from the Hayward School District. Those who knew and loved him will miss him dearly, as well as all the amusing stories he told of his mischievous experiences growing up in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Preceded in death by his parents and both sisters, Verda Jo and Katherine, Walter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joann Bentley, daughters Vicki Racette (Richard) and Stephanie Bentley, brother Fred Bentley, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
