Wai Hing Lo's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Wai-Hing Lo
Wai-Hing Lo was born on April 12, 1926 in Hong Kong. She was number 6 among the 12 children in the family. As a result of the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, Wai-Hing did not finish her high school education and had to flee to China.
After the war, Wai-Hing got married. Her first marriage, which ended in divorce, was short-lived. Ten years later, Wai-Hing met Vincent Lo and had two daughters with him. She immigrated to the US in 1981 and was happily married to Vincent until he passed away in 2001.
Wai-Hing was a homemaker most of her life. She took great care of Eva, her special needs child. Wai-Hing had a long battle with dementia. In 2009, she moved from her place in San Francisco to an assisted living facility in San Jose when she could no longer manage her daily activities and take care of Eva. She and Eva were roommates since then. They were inseparable. Every facility that Wai-Hing applied for admission, including memory care, understood that mom and Eva were a package. They could not take one but leave the other. Wai-Hing stayed in San Jose until the middle of 2019 when Linda decided to have them close by. Her Alzheimer deteriorated to the point that she refused to eat and drink starting in December 2019. She was placed in comfort care two weeks before she passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020.
