Virgilio Lerias' Obituary
Virgilio “Genie” Corbita Lerias, 74, of Hayward Ca. passed away at 4:49am on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St Rose Hospital. Virgilio was born on November 16, 1942 in Bonbon, Clarin, Bohol Philippines who was the third child of six siblings to Leonor and Peregrina Lerias. Virgilio is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Achumbre Lerias; son Erwin “Edonn” Lerias with Ariel Layug; daughter Sairel Lerias-Pacho with Gus Pacho; only granddaughter Aleana “Ally” Pacho; only brother Romeo “Romy” Lerias with Erlinda T. Lerias; sisters Faye L. Tan and Rosario “Rose” L. Remolador with Melvyn Remolador; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.Virgilio immigrated to the US in 1978. His wife and children came 3 years later to join him in San Francisco, Ca. The family moved to Hayward, Ca. and lived there for the remainder of his years. He spent some years in high school at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary School in Tagbilaran, Bohol. He earned his degree in Business at Colegio de San Jose Recoletos Cebu, Philippines and has worked as an accountant for over 50 years to retire a few years before his passing. He was an avid all things computer, the latest tech toys and was savvy at making his own PC computers. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, keeping contact with distant relatives and friends on online social-media, listening to music of different genres and watching sci-fi/action movies. He was proud of his family and loves spending time with them and their furry friend Robbie. The most important and enjoyable job he obtained was teaching/caring for his granddaughter on most days of the week. They were two peas in a pod and were each others’ best friend.
