Mr. Virgilio Da Silva
February 5, 1935 - March 22, 2024
Virgilio Da Silva, a proud U.S. Army veteran and longtime Hayward resident, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on February 5, 1935, Virgil lived a life of service, love, and devotion. He served his country with honor and carried that pride throughout his life. After marrying the love of his life, Lillian, they traveled across the country before settling in Hayward, where they built a home and shared more than 65 years together. He was a proud union truck driver working for DeSilva Gates until retirement and a true craftsman in his own right.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Jess) and Scott (Carol); grandchildren, Kirstin (Robert), Aubrey (Jon), and Jason; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Marcella, and Emmitt. Virgil will be remembered for his strength, kindness, love of westerns, and the joy he found in his family, who were his greatest pride
