Viola May Way's Obituary
VIOLA MAY WAY12/13/1927-12/27/2017 Viola Way went to heaven on December 27, 2017 just two weeks after celebrating her 90th birthday.Viola was born on December 13, 1927 to Austin and Edith Harris. She met her husband, George Way, when she was 16. They were high school sweethearts and got married on September 8, 1946. They were blessed with two daughters, Candice and Janice. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary just weeks before George passed away in 1999,She had been active in her church, leading junior high youth groups, in participating in Bible classes, LWML and sewing circles. She loved to travel especially to Disneyland, Hawaii and on cruises. Viola loved playing games with the family and especially spending time with them. Most recently, she loved to read and create things with plastic canvas.She is survived by her loving daughter, Janice (Kenneth) Carlson, four grandsons: Steven (Kelly) Carlson, David (fiancé Trina Calderon) Carlson, Gary (Tanya) LaFleur, Greg (Monica) LaFleur; twelve great grandchildren: Alexis Carlson, Brianna Carlson, Natalie Carlson, Tiffani Carlson, Austin Carlson, Kylee Carlson, Erica (Frank)Smith, Trisha LaFleur, Ryan LaFleur, Grant LaFleur, Griffin LaFleur and Tiana LaFleur; three great-great grandsons: twins Ace and Amar’e Adams and Matthew LaFleur and many nieces and nephews.Viola was preceded in death by her loving husband George, her daughter Candice LaFleur and her grandson George LaFleur.She will be missed but not forgotten by all who loved her.In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice.A memorial service will be held for Viola on Saturday, January 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont located at 38451 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536
